Consilience Logo

Consilience: Our CICM Logo

Consilience logo

The logo was developed to represent the concept of Consilience, which means, “unity of knowledge”. The term was coined by the 19th Century polymath William Whewell and popularly revived in 1998 by the distinguished Harvard biologist, E. O Wilson, in his book entitled, Consilience: The Unity of Knowledge.

Consilience reflects our desire to gain a better understanding about global events through a synthesis of knowledge from a variety of disciplines, generating opinions based on a collective, convergent view. The logo of Consilience attempts to reflect this notion of overlapping knowledge and convergence of evidence.
