Risk, Issue & Vulnerability Analysis

The purpose of the course is to provide participants with the chance to re-evaluate the threats and vulnerabilities that may affect their organisations. It takes a holistic approach and explores strategic, operational, brand and IT-based threats and associated vulnerabilities. The course will start with a review of strategic management and the key elements of how to identify risk issues and the links to organisational exposure. As well as conventional methods of analysis, the course will also approach threats and risks from the view-point of an adversary or competitors’ view-point, known as “red teaming”.

Improving decision-making is at the core of the course, allowing participants the chance to explore how better decisions can be made and how to avoid classic mistakes. International standards, aligned to ISO31000 are referred to during the course.

Cyber security is reviewed, particularly the various and growing threats to organisation reputation through the use of malware and determined hackers. Finally, the importance of economic crime and the vulnerability to loss or theft of key information or intellectual property is examined.
